Current Projects

My  latest project consists of documenting the annual wheat harvest the Palouse region of eastern Washington State.  The Palouse is one of the most bountiful wheat growing areas of the world, and nothing compares to the sight of a self-leveling combine lumbering across the golden wheat covered hills.

During the second half of August 2009 I photographed a variety of wheat harvesting activities, from cutting with the combines to dumping truckloads of wheat at the grain elevators to a seemingly endless line of grain filled hopper cars of a Union Pacific freight train rumbling off into the sunset.

My hope is to show a selection of the best photographs at a exhibition in a gallery in Seattle.

Special thanks go to the people of St. John, Washington who made many of my photographs possible, and especially to Valerie, who was an outstanding guide.

You can now see the photographs in the Palouse Wheat Harvest gallery.
