Seattle Galleries

The Seattle Arboretum is home to a spectacular collection of flowers, plants and trees. It is the best place in Seattle to see the fall colors or spring time blooms.

Alki Beach is the longest and most popular beach in Seattle. During the summer months it is a Mecca for sunbathing, cycling, inline skating, volleyball and walking.

The Ballard Locks are where the Washington Ship Canal meets Elliott Bay. Over a million tons of cargo pass through the locks every year.

The Seattle Center was the site of the 1962 World's Fair. It is home to Seattle's most famous icon, The Space Needle.

The Washington state ferry system is the largest in the United States and the third largest in the world, with a fleet of 28 ships.

Seattle - Fishermens Terminal

Fishermens Terminal is home to the Pacific Northwest commercial fishing fleet and serves over 600 vessels.

Green Lake Park is a popular area for recreation and relaxation. The most popular feature of the park is the bike path, used for jogging, cycling, staking or for just walking.

This is the site of a plant used to create natural gas from coal built about 100 years ago.

Hamilton Park in West Seattle is one of the best places to get sweeping views of downtown Seattle from across Elliott Bay.

The Japanese Garden is located within the Arboretum, and is an authentic re-creation of traditional gardens found in Japan.

Lake Union sits in the middle of Seattle.  The north end of the Aurora Bridge is the best place for a panoramic view of the entire lake.

Lake Washington borders Seattle's east side and is one of the largest lakes in Washington state.

The Monorail was built for the 1962 World's Fair - it runs between Westlake Center and the Seattle Center.

The Magnolia neighborhood lies along the north shore of Elliott Bay, with Magnolia Drive offering panoramic views of the downtown waterfront. 

Seattle has more boats per capita than any other major city in the US.

Myrtle Edwards Park is located on the shores of Elliott Bay just north of downtown Seattle. It is a great place to see Mt Rainier while biking or jogging along the waterfront paths.

Pioneer Square is where Seattle really started. Many of the buildings in Pioneer Square date back to the late 1800's. They were built of brick and stone after the great Seattle fire of 1889.

Seattle's historic Pike Place Market is the longest continuously operating farmer's market in the nation. 

The Space Needle is Seattle's most famous icon. Originally built for the 1962 World's Fair, it has become a true symbol of Seattle and one of the most recognized structures in the world.

Seafair is Seattle's signature summer event, featuring the Navy's Blue Angels and the unlimited hydroplane races.

SODO business district is located south of the downtown area.

These are views from the observation deck of the Space Needle, 520 feet up. This is the best place to get panoramic views of downtown Seattle, Mt. Rainier, Elliott Bay, the Olympic Mountain and the Cascade Mountains.

The University of Washington is the largest university in the state of Washington.

The Columbia Tower is the tallest building in Seattle - these are views from the 73rd floor.
