The Four Elements Project

Picture
Beginning with the ancient Greeks and continuing through the middle ages, people believed everything was made of four basic elements: air, earth, fire and water. I contacted an acquaintance of mine and explained the concept to her. She thought it was a great idea and she agreed to model for me. The four photographs below illustrate some of the ways that we humans can experience each of the four elements.

Air - by letting the wind blow through your hair

Earth - by squishing a handful of rich soil in your hands

Water - by having water pour down your face

Fire - by feeling the heat from flames close to your face
